The one-day workshop, to be held in Melbourne on July 11 2010, would be suitable for professional scientists and post graduate students especially in ecology and applied ecology, including wildlife and fisheries science.
Topics to be covered include: closed models, methods that allow unequal capture probabilities, open population models, estimating survival and movement for open populations, estimating abundance and recruitment for open populations, combining Closed and Open Population Models, Pollock’s Robust Design.
Course participants are required to download the free MARK software to their laptop computers before the workshop. During the workshop, after some background lectures participants will work through examples using the software with help from the instructor.
